DONATION DRIVE ‐ PLEASE HELP RMPA WITH ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS! Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives The Board Members of the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association would like to thank all of the members who contributed tonight to the donation drive for Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives. The mission of Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives, located in Denver, Colorado, is to reduce street gang recruitment activities and the causes of gang violence by providing positive alternative activities and family support to at-risk youth. Striving to provide the healthiest environment for youth growth, Open Door utilizes a combination of in-school, after-school based community outreach and summer programs. Some of the programs provided are Professional Development, Academic and Character Education, Parent Connection, Intensive Intervention and Redirection, and the Youth Outreach Unit. Please visit their website www.therev.org for additional information or you may reach Open Door at (303) 893-4264 Thank you again for your generosity!
MILITARY PARALEGAL OUTREACH PROGRAM Together with NFPA, RMPA supports the Military Paralegal Outreach program. This program seeks to unite paralegals serving overseas in the US Armed Forces with local paralegal associations by sending periodic "Care Packages" of non-perishable food, snack, hygiene and other miscellaneous items (books, games, stationery, etc.) to bring them a little bit of home while away from their loved ones. As of February 2009, NFPA affiliates have supported a total of 284 separate Navy Legalmen or military paralegals stationed at locations in Iraq and Afghanistan. A breakdown of paralegals via their respective branch of service is shown below. Would you like to help support RMPA in this effort? Please contact our new Military Paralegal Outreach Coordinator, Dianne Carns, president@rockymtnparalegal.org. Suggested Donation Items:
