PROBATE SECTION ANNUAL REPORT 2011

Dianne Carns and Janice Lancaster are Co-Chairs of the Probate Section.  The Probate Section meets the third Tuesday of every odd-numbered month at the offices of Holme Roberts & Owen LLP, 1700 Lincoln Street, Suite 4100, Denver, CO  80203.

 In January of this year, Michelle M. Rose-Hughes, Esq. of Tuthill & Hughes LLP, spoke on Probate Administration and Trust Administration when PR’s/Trustees live outside of the U.S.  In March of this year, Kristen Sweat, Esq. of Baker & Hostetler, LLP, spoke on Allocation of Increase in Basis for Property Received from a Decedent – IRS Form 8939.    

             The topics and speakers scheduled for the remainder of 2011 are as follows:

•   May 17, 2011 – Legislative Updates – Steenrod Schwartz & McMinimee LLP.
•   July 19, 2011 – Connecting the Dots between the Estate Plan and Elder Law –  Casey Williams, Esq., Gladstein & O’Brien LLP
•   September 20, 2011 – Probate:  Special Issues and Problems – Jane Paddison, Esq., Donelson Ciancio & Goodwin PC
•   November 15, 2011 – Pizza and planning meeting
