Ed Schneider

President:  Ed C. Schneider (final term)
Also serves as NFPA Secondary Delegate and NFPA Regulation Review Coordinator

Ed C. Schneider is a freelance pro bono paralegal and also works in staff administration with Faegre Baker Daniels, LLP. Since 2007, he has worked as a litigation paralegal for a variety of firms in Illinois and Colorado. Between 2009 and 2017, he held a Tier 4 Practicing License with the United Kingdom of Institute of Paralegals and was elected fellow of the organization in 2015. He has since retired the post in 2017 to focus on his graduate studies and his work with the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association. Ed is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a BA in Criminology and Legal Studies. Presently he is a Master’s Candidate for Legal Studies with American Military University and is in the process of applying to various graduate programs to work towards his PhD in International Affairs and Diplomacy with an emphasis in International Crime. He has presented on a variety of topics ranging from same-sex marriage to international law and also wrote for the National Paralegal Reporter on HIPAA, LGBT Diversity, and Attorney/Paralegal Relationships.

Ed has held the roles of VP of Administration and President-Elect. Currently, he is the NFPA Regulation Review Coordinator. Previously, Ed has served on a variety of other community boards and bar associations. 

Vice President of Policy:  Janet Price, CP, CRP™

Janet Price, CP ®, CRP ™, is a family law paralegal at Ciancio Ciancio Brown, P.C. A graduate of the Arapahoe Community College paralegal program she has been working in the legal field for more than 25 years, and has been a RMPA member for much of that time. Building on her education she earned the Certified Paralegal, CP® credential in 2001, and in 2011 the Core Registered Paralegal, CRP™ certification. An active member of the Colorado paralegal community, Janet is currently the RMPA Vice President and formerly served RMPA as a Director at Large and Vice President of Administration; was on the Advisory Board for the Arapahoe Community College Paralegal Program for several years; served as chair and co-chair of the CBA Paralegal Committee; and was a Commissioner with the Colorado Access to Justice Commission.

Sussan Ameri

Vice President of Membership:  Gerry Hernandez 

Gerry Hernandez is a freelance paralegal specializing exclusively in family law. Gerry received her Paralegal Certificate from the Community College of Denver and has been a teacher for the Paralegal Program at Denver Career College. She is an active member of the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association serving as Director at Large and presently as VP of Membership, a member of the National Federal Paralegal Association and Colorado Bar Association Family Law Section. She volunteers for Metropolitan Volunteer Lawyers Family Law Court Program and Family Tree Domestic Violence Legal Clinic. In 2009, Gerry was the first paralegal to receive the Paralegal Community Service Award from Metropolitan Volunteer Lawyers for her many hours of service and dedication.

Janice Lancaster

Treasurer:  Janice Lancaster

Janice Lancaster grew up in Tampa, Florida, and moved to Colorado in 1978. A 1975 graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in English, she saw a monetary need to further her education and attended the Denver Paralegal Institute, graduating in 1981. Following a month-long intern position, Holme, Roberts and Owen, LLP offered her a job in their trusts and estates department, where she has been ever since. Although she swore after high school that her math days were over, Janice is responsible for trust accounting and reporting, as well as extensive tax return preparations.

Regina DeherreraNFPA Primary: Regina DeHerrera

Regina DeHerrera is a graduate from Colorado State University with a BA in Technical Journalism and a concentration in Public Relations. She completed Arapahoe Community College's Paralegal Certificate program in December 2015. Regina's professional career began in advertising sales at the television channel, Oxygen, in NYC and The Denver Post. Her passion for the legal industry was sparked during her five years at Merrill Corporation, a regulatory and financial disclosure communications company.  In 2016, she joined the legal department at Starz Entertainment as a Legal Coordinator where her primary focus is assisting with the contract management process, records management, and support to the legal team.

Michelle Cole

Director at Large:  D. Michelle Cole

D. Michelle Cole is a graduate of Western State Colorado University with a BA in English Literature and Spanish. While at Western, she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority where she held many board positions including President. She completed her paralegal certificate in 2000. She started her paralegal career working for Fognani & Faught, an environmental defense litigation firm in Denver. In 2004, she moved back to Oklahoma where she worked for the Landreth Law Firm focusing on environmental defense and oil and gas leases. In 2007, she transitioned to medical malpractice defense and worked as a senior litigation paralegal for Rodolf & Todd. In February 2013, Michelle moved back to Denver and began working for Moye White but found that she missed medical malpractice so she accepted a medical malpractice paralegal position at Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell in April of 2014. Michelle assists several partners and associates with a large case load that include cases with complex medical issues that are document intensive. Michelle has extensive experience in litigation and trial preparation and support.

Laura Hinchey

Director at Large: Laura Hinchey, CP

Laura R. Hinchey joined The Contiguglia Law Firm as the firm’s Office Manager, Client Specialist and Paralegal in September 2015. In addition to managing the daily operations of the office, Laura is an active member of the firm’s legal team responsible for maintaining case files, meeting with clients, assisting with discovery and trial preparation. Prior to The Contiguglia Law Firm, Laura worked for the international law firm Dentons, formerly known as McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, supporting the attorneys in the government contracts and litigation divisions in their review and response to bid protests and creation of trial and deposition notebooks, while reviewing and organizing discovery, as well as cite checking pleadings. Laura moved into the law firm environment from a large Denver-based corporation where she managed the corporate business filing requirements, bond and insurance activities, lobbyist registrations and reports, and drafted and negotiated contracts. Laura became a board member of the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association in 2016, and is a member of the Denver chapter of Women in eDiscovery. She obtained her Certified Paralegal License from NALA in July 2015. She has been a paralegal since 2010 when she graduated, with honors, from Arapahoe Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Paralegal Studies. I n 2014, she received Arapahoe Community College’s Distinguished Alumni award.

Ashley Adabahr

Director at Large: Ashley Adabahr

Ashley Adabahr is a paralegal at Gutterman Griffiths PC, a law firm that specializes in divorce and legal separation, allocation of parental responsibilities, and other family law matters. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. As an undergraduate she focused her studies on understanding the application of psychological principals in social settings, specifically with respect to gaining a deeper understanding of the human experience in the workplace. Prior to starting her career as a paralegal, she was an operations manager for a retail store as well as for an online retail company, working closely with both national and international product suppliers. In those roles she learned a great deal about working with people from many different backgrounds and found that she thrived in chaotic environments that required creative solutions to problems. In her work as a paralegal in family law, she has found that her background in psychology and ability to manage high stress situations have proven to be great assets when assisting clients in dealing with the most difficult times of their lives.

Cachet Winterroth

Director at Large: Cachet Winterroth, CP

Cachet Winterroth, CP, is a graduate of Estrella Mountain College with a BA in Business Administration. She went on to study at the University of Tulsa where she completed her paralegal certificate and became a Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants. During that time, Cachet interned for Tulsa County District Court Judge Daman Cantrell. She started her legal career in 2010 at Rodolf & Todd, a medical malpractice defense firm in Tulsa. In 2003, Cachet transitioned to Atkinson, Haskins, Nellis, Brittingham, Gladd & Fiasco where she continued in medical malpractice defense work, and expanded her skill set in multiple areas of insurance defense to include tribal law, first and third party insurance defense, real estate contracts, and estate litigation. After returning to her home state of Colorado in 2015, Cachet worked for her family’s business, Mountain Mini Storage, until it’s sale. Eager to get back into the legal field, she accepted a position with Wheeler, Trigg, O’Donnell in March of 2017. She works closely with several partners and associates, and maintains a variety of cases relating to insurance defense.

Board Advisor:  Jenny Johnson Barker

Jenny Johnson Barker has worked as a litigation paralegal for over 20 years in the areas of personal injury, products liability, employment and labor law, construction defect, medical malpractice, asbestos litigation and complex commercial business litigation. Jenny received her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from Arapahoe Community College and her Paralegal Certificate from the University of Northern Colorado. Jenny has also worked as an adjunct instructor for the Paralegal Program at Kaplan College. Jenny is an active member of the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association and has held many board positions including Director at Large, President-Elect, Vice President of Membership and Litigation Chair. Jenny is currently the NFPA Ethics and Professional Responsibility Coordinator.
